USTelematics Announces Landmark Agreement with D&H Distributing to Gain Mass Market Distribution in Nation's Largest Retail Chains
Friday January 11, 4:01 pm ET
Under the agreement, D&H Distributing will distribute USTelematics’ advanced communications and rear-seat mobile entertainment product lines alongside the world’s best-known electronics brands. D&H serves many of the largest electronics retailers in North America including Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, CompUSA, Circuit City, Amazon.com, J&R Computer World, Electronics Boutique, Gamestop, BJ’s, retail college bookstores, and more. Major, well-recognized consumer electronics brands supplied by D&H are Microsoft, Lenovo, Samsung, Cisco and many others.
D&H will handle USTelematics Voyager™ Mobile IPTV and rear-seat entertainment system, and the Company’s Vivee™ voice enhanced mobile messaging products.
The D&H agreement brings USTelematics key advantages as the Company rolls out its products in retail channels, including extensive reach into both the largest electronics chains as well as smaller and specialty retailers.
“Among the benefits D&H provides is dealer financing,” explained Howard Leventhal, Chief Executive Officer of USTelematics. “Our Voyager product line has an average wholesale price around $500. Multiply this by 10 units per store and a single smaller retailer with 20 stores could conceivably need to purchase $100,000 worth of our goods. For smaller dealers, a large inventory investment like this can inhibit wholesale purchasing. D&H offers dealer “floor plan” wholesale financing, which is designed to remove this sort of buying inhibition and maximize our product representation and sales at all store types.”
D&H has long specialized in the early identification of the most important emerging trends in information technology, electronics, entertainment and gaming. Throughout its 89-year history, D&H has accomplished many firsts, including distribution of the first color TV, the first home PC and the first gaming system.
“This agreement is particularly valuable to USTelematics because of D&H’s proven track record in successfully recognizing the most exciting new products, and then to play a key role in making those products a success in the marketplace,” said Mr. Leventhal. “We are proud and thankful for the opportunity to have our product lines and brand distributed nationally and throughout North America, side-by-side with fine, long-established consumer electronics names currently handled by D&H.”
Mr. Leventhal added, “We have made a commitment to mass market distribution and D&H is a key resource toward enabling many, many retail points of sale.”
