MTX Strikes Hard and Fast with the New Thunder Thin Series of Shallow Subwoofers.

(Las Vegas Convention Center/North Hall, Booth #2401) - MTX Audio, the leader in high performance mobile audio products, announces the release of the most radical and innovative shallow depth subwoofer to hit the car audio market. The new Thunder Thin subwoofers are set for release at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (C.E.S.) in January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With the lack of space in most modern vehicles, shallow subwoofers have become popular alternative solutions. Until now, shallow subwoofers have been designed to fill the need of a subwoofer in a limited depth environment, but could not provide the low end response of a conventional subwoofer due to lack of performance from limited excursion capabilities; nevertheless, they are sold at a premium price. MTX's TT series of subwoofers have been designed to respond and perform as a conventional subwoofer by providing true bass response, better performance, and greater output than any other shallow subwoofer in the car audio market.

MTX's TT series subwoofer is a pioneering shallow subwoofer with design features such as MTX's customary spider plateau venting technology for optimal cooling at the 220°C aluminum voice coil; a progressive connex spider with integrated sub-cone (patent pending) which is the key to the new shallow design, and a new black ABS trim ring with aluminum hot stamp printing. The TT series also utilizes materials such as a SantopreneTM rubber surround to enable the subwoofers to have similar excursion and performance as the MTX TR55 series subwoofers in a compact depth of only 3.325-inches and a PP/PMI/Glass fiber dust cap with the new MTX Gothic logo.

  • TT6510-02 - thin 10-inch subwoofer, 300 watt RMS rating, 2ohm impedance
  • TT6510-04 - thin 12-inch subwoofer, 300 watt RMS rating, 4ohm impedance
  • TT6512-02 - thin 12-inch subwoofer, 400 watt RMS rating, 2ohm impedance
  • TT6512-04 - thin 12-inch subwoofer, 400 watt RMS rating, 4ohm impedance

TT subwoofer models can work within .50 cu ft (minimum) to 1.25 cu ft (optimal) sealed enclosures which provides extensive versatility during installation behind seats of a standard cab truck or a convertible sports car.

The new TT Series subwoofers are hitting the market hard and fast with performance to rival that of a conventional round subwoofer. Visit http://www.mtx.com/ for up-to-date information regarding the new MTX Mobile Audio products and news.
