New StreetWires® Copper-Coated Aluminum Alloy Wire Creates Affordable Aftermarket Options For Off-Road Enthusiasts
Innovative Product is Less Expensive Than Pure Copper Strand, With Minimal
Performance Penalty; Well-Suited for Any Kind of Electrical Power Delivery
Las Vegas Convention Center/North Hall, Booth 2401 - (January 7, 2008) - StreetWires®, the inventor of premium power distribution products for vehicular use, today announced it has begun shipping its new Copper-Coated Aluminum Alloy (CCA) line of wire, an affordable yet high-quality power distribution option for recreational and competitive dirt sports and off-road enthusiasts. CCA wire is only slightly less conductive than pure copper, yet can bridge the budget gap on expensive installs of aftermarket electronics-a major plus for many vehicle owners.
"For maximum electrical conductivity, nothing beats pure copper. But with the price of copper rising, CCA wire is an option that can be more than acceptable in many cases," said John Ivey, Senior VP of Consumer Audio for the StreetWires brand. "Unlike many wire manufacturers who are dealing with the rising cost of copper, StreetWires has chosen not to shave costs by under-gauging its wire. Our fully-gauged CCA product is more conductive than under-gauged copper wire-yet it's still less expensive than premium copper alternatives."
Under-gauged wire is an increasingly common practice that causes aftermarket installs to suffer. The situation develops when manufacturers-in an effort to lower cost-decrease the strand count in their wire, making up the difference by increasing the thickness of the jacket. A wire marked 1/0 gauge may look the right thickness-but the wire inside is thinner than it should be.
Copper-Coated Aluminum Alloy, on the other hand, is 100% AWG (American Wire Gauge) compliant, yet weighs 65% less than pure copper wire. Not only does it maximize the electrical power distribution for the price, but also it ensures that the owner is getting the product they're paying for.
StreetWires CCA wire is ideal for audio, multimedia electronics, communications equipment, lights and lighting accessories, winches, GPS systems and much more. Its highly flexible Rope Lay construction prevents kinking and offers more installation options. Even more, its strong, durable Poly Flex® jacketing means StreetWires CCA wire can handle even the roughest, hottest and dustiest off-road conditions.
Available in 4, 8, or 1/0 gauge varieties, StreetWires CCA wire comes in spools as well as pre-packaged lengths of seven and twenty feet (jacket options include clear and translucent red).
StreetWires products are marketed through a network of authorized dealers located across the U.S. and internationally as well as on the World Wide Web. To learn more about the company's new CCA wire, or to find a dealer, log on to http://www.streetwires.com/.
