TR-1 Announces New Five Button Wireless Remote Controller With Exclusive Built in Fishing and Safety Features
October 18, 2006, South Beach, OR This unique five button mini wireless controller allows the freedom to move about the boat, and keeps you in control while you're away from the helm. The intuitive five button keypad delivers simple operation and convenient access to: right and left rudder command, save and resume heading, zigzags, direct rudder command or man overboard maneuver (MOB) for safety. The compact design measures 1-3/8" x 2-1/4" x 3/8" and it comes with a safety release neck lanyard, a waterproof storage container, and has a long lasting replaceable battery.
The wireless has a range of over 100 feet from the receiver unit, making it suitable for any size vessel. Each wireless controller leaves the factory pre-programmed to the receiver unit, making this a simple plug and play system. Additional coded wireless controllers can be added for extra crew members or to accommodate larger boats, but must be coded by the factory and are available by special order. This wireless unit is compatible with all current autopilots including the new Gladiator YTS and it will retrofit all previous versions of the Gladiator and Verado Autopilot. The new five button wireless will be available for purchase November 1, 2006.
About TR-1 Autopilots
Founded in 1994 by former aerospace engineers, designers, and executives who have a deep passion for boating and fishing. TR-1, a Nautamatic Marine Systems Company, develops and manufactures autopilots for the marine recreational market. The TR-1 Gladiator Autopilot has two patents that enable the autopilot to absolutely control the boat in any sea condition and eliminate the need for a Rudder Feedback Transducer, which is the number one failure in competitor's autopilots. The TR-1 Gladiator is the only autopilot in the world to offer Shadow DriveTM. It allows the Captain of the boat full control at all times while in autopilot mode, allowing them to take control of the boat at the helm just by turning the steering wheel. "TR-1 has certainly changed how the boating community thinks about autopilots today versus twelve years ago," says Graham Dorland. "We have committed ourselves to educating boaters on the value of having an autopilot on their boat. Whether you use it for family fishing trips, a trip to Alaska or Bahamas, or the effectiveness of having an autopilot on a chartered boat, the TR-1 has changed the way people think and use an autopilot." TR-1's corporate office and manufacturing plant is located in South Beach, Oregon, and also has a sales and support office located in Dania Beach, Florida.
In September 2004, TR-1 Autopilots and Mercury Marine announced that the TR-1 Gladiator was the only approved autopilot for the new Mercury Verado Outboards. In 2005, TR-1 announced the release of the first wireless remote for autopilots. New for 2007, is the release of the Gladiator YTS Autopilot. The new YTS Autopilot is the simplest and most technologically advanced autopilot with an exclusive display design that has three buttons and a dial, which makes it the most user friendly autopilot in the world! Plus, it's backed with an industry first, three year warranty. TR-1 has unmatched customer service with 24/7 technical support for both our customers and dealers, and gives a full 30-day money back guarantee on all TR-1 Autopilots.
