New ST70 Multifunction Instruments Feature Unprecedented Versatility and Stunning Color Displays
Merrimack, N.H. - October 4, 2007 - Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today announced the new ST70 Multifunction Instruments, offering boaters a brand new way of visualizing instrumentation. Featuring a graphical user interface and a sunlight-viewable, high-resolution color display, the ST70 provides unmatched versatility and ease of use, allowing boaters to choose the way they want to see vital instrument data
"Previously, boaters had to own a separate instrument for each type of data - such as depth, speed and wind - limiting the amount of information they could fit on a helm, as well as impacting the boat's design," said Terry Carlson, president of Raymarine. "With the ST70, we've combined our award-winning instrument technology and bold color with our multifunction and integration expertise to enable boaters to access all of their data through one ST70 instrument, or combine a number of ST70's into a custom system that fits perfectly with their boat."
Designed for simple setup and extensive customization, the ST70 delivers an array of digital, graphical and historical display options, as well as nine different language choices. Its intuitive menu and icon-driven interface make it easy to view the eight user-defined instrument data pages, which include Depth, Speed, Wind, Heading, Navigation, Engine and Environment. Each of these data pages features 16 screen layout options as well as the ability to turn each page on or off. In addition, the instrument's easy-to-use carousel menu simplifies setup and its start-up wizard assists in automatically configuring each additional ST70 display in the system.
The ST70's streamlined design and brilliant color displays make it the ideal companion instrument system for Raymarine's multifunction displays, allowing boat owners to create a full-color helm solution. Customers can also choose to combine multiple ST70 instruments and transducer pods for a full-featured, information rich instrument system.
The ST70 is built on Raymarine's new SeaTalkng Next Generation data bus, which enables the simple interconnection of Raymarine instruments, autopilots and multifunction displays. Small diameter cables and color coded connectors make the robust CAN-based network easy and straightforward to install. The SeaTalkng bus also provides power to ST70 displays and transducer eliminating the need for additional power cables.
