FURUNO'S NEWEST FISH FINDERS UTILIZE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY FOR HIGH DEFINITION FISH-FINDING CAPABILITY

Camas, WA - In 1948, Furuno introduced the world's first commercially available fish finder, revolutionizing how fishermen found their catch. Fast forward to 2006, where Furuno's famous fish finder technology now implements the latest in digital filtering for enhanced detail and accuracy. Introducing the new FCV585 and FCV620 digital, dual-frequency fish finders. Furuno's new DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology adapts to your fishing environment by adjusting gain, STC and output power, as well as suppressing main bang (the echoes or clutter just below the transducer). It also makes the picture clearer and easier to decipher between baitfish and larger target species. The DSP filter optimizes the gain to suit the search range. For example, when searching in deep water, the pulse length is made wider and the reception band is made narrower, allowing for better and clearer detection at the deeper range. This is perfect for finding bottom fish, because the digital filter separates the noise from the actual seabed structure, allowing you to see the target fish close to the seabed.

Shallow water detection is also enhanced with the new DSP technology by suppressing surface clutter mainly caused by the vessels propeller. They also feature a fast transmission rate of 3000 times per second when sounding at the water depth of 5 meters, which aids in shallow water detection and identifying bait pods and individual fish targets right under the boat.

The FCV585 sports an incredibly bright and large 8.4-inch VGA sunlight viewable 256-color LCD display that will stand-up to the harshest conditions. The FCV620 employs a 5.6-inch QVGA display with the same characteristics as the FCV585. Both have a wide viewing angle and can display the subtlest of echoes in 8, 16 or 64 colors. The FCV585 and FCV620 will serve as successor models to the phenomenally successful FCV582L and FCV600L, respectively, as supplies of the older models are exhausted.

Both units feature operator selectable frequency of 50 kHz or 200 kHz for highly accurate readings of bottom depth, structure and fish under varying conditions. The

The FCV585 has a high transmission output power of 600 or 1,000 Watts RMS, and the FCV620 is 600 Watts RMS. These high power fish finders can provide detail all the way down to 2,500 feet (5,000 feet with range phasing).

Seven basic operation modes on the FCV585 and FCV620 allow you to choose the perfect method of display according to the specific situation. In addition to the Single (50 kHz or 200 kHz) mode, there are Dual, Zoom (Marker Zoom/Bottom Zoom/Bottom Lock) and two Nav Data options. The Dual mode simultaneously displays sounding pictures of both 50 kHz and 200 kHz in separate windows, allowing you to analyze a target (fish, bottom or structure) with two different sounding images. In the Zoom mode, you can take a closer look at a specified portion of the water column. The Nav modes provide own ship navigation data and sounding data when connected with appropriate sensing units, such as GPS/WAAS navigator, speed and temp sensors.

Other FCV585 & FCV620 features include A-Scope, Alarm (fish, depth or temp) and Temperature graph, Target Lat/Lon output for an interfaced Furuno chart plotter, and selectable automatic cruising or fishing modes to suit your style of boating. Optional thru-hull or transom-mount triducer and speed/temp sensors are also available.

A new swivel bracket comes with each unit for convenient desktop mounting. The swivel makes it possible to position the screen in the most ergonomic way. For those who prefer flush mounting, these units make it extremely easy by only requiring you to drill the panel with a 5-inch hole-saw to make the flush mount cutout.

While Furuno has made extensive cosmetic improvements to the appearance of these new fish finders, they maintained their long-standing and highly revered direct access knobs for simplified operation. The combination of Furuno's unparalleled fish finding performance and simple operation has led to Furuno winning every NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) Fish Finder Awards since the awards inception in 1978.

Whether you are fishing in the shallow waters off the Florida coast, or in the deep blue Pacific, the FCV585 & FCV620 will do exactly what you want them to do, find fish.
