PERIPHERAL ELECTRONICS® INTEGRATES HD RADIOTM TECHNOLOGY INTO LATE-MODEL FORD, LINCOLN AND MERCURY VEHICLES
11/5/2007
Used with the Peripheral Electronics Automotive Media Gateway, the direct control HD Radio Tuner (HDRT) provides factory stereos with unsurpassed audio quality, expanded radio content and subscription-free HD RadioTM programming.
Clearwater, Fl., November 2007 - Peripheral Electronics®, AAMP of America's innovative OEM Integration division, announced today it is now shipping its direct control HD Radio Tuner (HDRT) for numerous late-model Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. The HDRT seamlessly integrates HD RadioTM technology into the factory stereo, providing unsurpassed audio quality, expanded radio content and free HD Radio programming.
The HDRT requires the Peripheral Electronics Automotive Media Gateway (PXAMG). It plugs directly into the Gateway and works with select 2005-08 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models-including the Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Mariner, MKX, Mountaineer, Mustang, Navigator and Taurus.
The HDRT receives analog and digital HD Radio stations, and provides complete control of AM and FM tuning through the factory radio. Users enjoy crystal-clear AM and FM reception and expanded content with exciting new formats-all with no subscription fees. HD Radio information is displayed on the radio screen, along with the artist and song when broadcast.
"With CD-quality music, alternative programming and no monthly bills, HD Radio takes radio broadcasting to a whole new level," said Ron Freeman, COO of AAMP of America. "Together with the Gateway, our HD Radio Tuner brings this cutting-edge technology to select vehicles that don't have it-without disrupting the integrity of the factory stereo."
The Gateway integrates the iPodTM and USB devices into factory audio systems, and provides an extra auxiliary input for many portable media electronics-from navigation and game systems to satellite radio tuners and DVD players. Unlike many other integration solutions, the Gateway retains OEM satellite radio, rear-seat entertainment controls and key driver convenience features for a seamless user experience.
"The Gateway will eventually cover over 1,200 applications," said Freeman, "and the HDRT will work with all of these. That means countless new vehicles with significantly more listening options and exceptional sound quality. When it comes to top-notch OEM Integration Solutions, the HDRT is a must-have piece."
