Peripheral Electronics Adds Radio Replacement Interface For Chrysler And Jeep

PERIPHERAL ELECTRONICS® ADDS RADIO REPLACEMENT INTERFACE FOR CHRYSLER AND JEEP

3/14/2007

CHYRAP lets late-model Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep owners replace non-amplified, factory entertainment systems without impacting driving performance.

Clearwater, Fl., March, 2007 - Peripheral Electronics®, AAMP of America's innovative OEM integration division, announced today the addition of its Radio Replacement Interface for late-model Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep automobiles. The interface, CHYRAP, lets select 2004-2006 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep owners easily upgrade their non-amplified, factory entertainment systems without compromising their automobile's data bus system.

The CHYRAP works with Durangos, Magnums, Chargers, Ram 300s, and Jeeps. It is compatible with REF, REC, RAQ, and RAK factory radio models, and plugs directly into an automobile's entertainment system. The CHYRAP provides accessory power and illumination with the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) function.

Designed for easy installation, the CHYRAP eliminates the cutting of pre-existing wires and avoids any interruption of an automobile's critical data bus system. It allows customers to add an aftermarket radio while maintaining the integrity of their automobile's critical computer network.

In the past, factory-installed automobile entertainment systems could be replaced with aftermarket models without impacting how that vehicle runs. In most of today's vehicles, however, those same entertainment systems are integrated directly into the data bus system. This means that many of these vehicles will be damaged or disabled if the original entertainment system is removed.

By providing a way for many late-model Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep owners to install new entertainment systems without affecting their car's overall performance, the CHYRAP meets the strong demand by these consumers for the seamless integration of aftermarket entertainment systems into their automobiles. Now, these owners can maintain that performance and upgrade their system at the same time.
