Jeppesen Marine Announces New OEM Partner and Two New Compatible Network Chart Plotter/Radar Systems

New Koden K-Link 600 Series and 1200 Series Offer All-In-One Navigation Performance With C-Map MAX Compatibility.

Cape Cod, MA (September 21, 2007) - With the introduction of two new network chart plotter/radar systems for 2008, Koden has joined the ranks of manufacturers designing navigation systems for advanced C-Map MAX electronic charts.

The basic K-Link system consists of a professional grade dual-range radar and chart plotter in one convenient unit. It shares up to three displays - radar, chart plotter, GPS compass or sounder - using a high-speed Ethernet network protocol. With the optional Black Box Sounder and GPS/WAAS Receiver, K-Link can be the perfect all-in-one navigation system for a wide range of recreational or commercial vessels. "The brilliant large format screens and versatile display options of this network system make K-Link an ideal match with C-Map MAX electronic charts," said David Church, President of SI-TEX/Koden. "With these detailed charts, professional-grade radar and sounder data at your fingertips, K-Link is a truly powerful tool for sailors, power boaters and fishermen," added Church.

The K-Link MDP-600 Series features a high resolution 7" color LCD display and a range of radar antennas including 2kW/24nm and 4kW/36nm radomes as well as a 4kW/48nm open array. The larger MDP-1200 Series features a 10.4" display with a 4kW/36nm radome or open array scanners ranging from 4kW/48nm to 12kW/72nm. Both units combine brilliant color daylight viewable displays (perfect for viewing the rich detail and contour shading of C-Map MAX charts) with easy-to-use menus, programmable function keys and second station capabilities.

K-Link's dual-range radar feature lets boaters view both short and long range radar targets at the same time, such as when monitoring a nearby buoy and distant island at the same time. This is like having two radars in one. Koden's True Color feature displays echoes in different colors based on signal strength, while the Semi-3D mode helps navigators size up the intensity of radar targets. Koden's available Automatic Tracking Aid feature gives boaters the power to automatically track up to 10 user designated targets-ideal for navigating in crowded waters.

For the highest level of situational awareness, K-Link systems have the ability to overlay radar targets over the C-Map MAX charts (with optional heading sensor). MAX charts give the MDP-600 and MDP-1200 the power to display Flashing NavAids, Dynamic Surface Currents, Tidal Predictions, Land Contour Elevations, Perspective View, anti-grounding Guardian Technology and other professional-grade features. It also provides navigators with ultra-detailed C-Marina charts of popular harbors, marine facility information and aerial NavRef Photos of selected harbors and inlets, important features for any boater journeying into unfamiliar waters.

Both K-Link systems are built for serious navigational use, with the ability to store 8,300 waypoints, 50 routes and 7000 track points. The user can select chart/radar operation in Heads-up, North-Up or Course-Up modes based on preference. Among the system's many useful alarms are Arrival, Anchor Watch, Cross Track Error, Speed and Water Temperature. Like all Koden products, the new K-Link systems are backed by a two-year limited warranty.
