FURUNO USA showcased NavNet 3D at this year's Miami International Boat Show with a booth dedicated to NavNet 3D seminars. Presentations were given each hour to explain the many features of NavNet 3D to potential customers. The presentations lasted approximately 30 minutes, with time for questions at the end of each session. The seminars were well attended with as many as 50 customers at a time viewing the presentation over the five-day show. This method proved to be an effective way of pre-qualifying customers. Once a customer sat through an entire seminar, they then went to the main FURUNO USA booth to put together specific NavNet 3D packages. Initial reports from the Miami International Boat Show management state that the show was lackluster, but for FURUNO and NavNet 3D, it was a shining success! While at the show, FURUNO garnered several awards, including the 2008 NMMA Innovation Award for NavNet 3D, Motor Boating Magazine's Best of 2007 for NavNet 3D and Sail Magazine's and 2008 Freeman K. Pittman Award for the FI-50 Instruments.
