NAVIGON Solidifies Number Four Position in US PND Market

NAVIGON reaches market share of 7.7 percent in Q1 2008

CHICAGO, April 23, 2008 - NAVIGON Inc. claimed the number four position in the personal navigation category in Q1 2008 in both unit and dollar volume, according to The NPD Group's Retail Tracking Service. NAVIGON earned a market share of 7.7 percent, up 4.1 percent compared to Q4 2007. NAVIGON's unit volume in Q1 2008 was 69 percent of the volume in Q4 2007, which is above the market average and industry expectations.

NPD's quarterly results indicate NAVIGON continues to build upon the industry momentum it has gathered since the launch of its consumer PND portfolio in Q3 2007. The company had a strong showing in February 2008, when it captured an 11.5 percent market share and its NAVIGON 2100 personal navigation device (PND) became the second best overall seller.

"First quarter numbers indicate we have established a secure hold on the fourth position in the U.S. PND market, a position we are very proud of after only two full quarters in the market," said Andreas Hecht, NAVIGON's president for the Americas. "We more than doubled our market share from the fourth quarter of 2007, which we considered an extremely successful quarter. With new, innovative NAVIGON products being introduced in North America, we are confident we will continue this strong growth and acquire more market share."

NAVIGON expects to strengthen its market position with the recent release of the NAVIGON 2100 max, an affordable device with a feature set focused on meeting consumers' navigation needs. The device features a wide, easy-to-read 4.3 inch screen, spoken driving directions via text-to-speech, DirectHelpTM to alert roadside assistance providers and NAVIGON's exclusive 3D Reality View to navigate complex interchanges. The NAVIGON 2100 max sells for an MSRP of $299 and can be purchased with NAVIGON FreshMaps, a service accessory that keeps map content fresh by providing up to 12 map updates in three years. NAVIGON FreshMaps is compatible across the company's product portfolio.
