VEI 32" MARINE DISPLAY

Monday December 3rd 2007. VEI (Valhalla Enterprises Inc) has today announced the release of their new 32" monitor, the latest edition to VEI's extensive range of Monitors, Computers, Control Systems and Night Vision Cameras.

First shown at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show at the end of October, the product created a huge interest from customers and dealers alike and with a Pilothouse 500 nit and a Sunlight 1200 nit variant to choose from, this monitor provides designers and integrators new opportunities not previously possible.

Combined with VEI's SSIR touch screen controller, boatyards are already specifying to use anything up to 4 x 32" displays which can be set up according to the exact requirements of the Captain or owner. The display can be full screen, or it can be split into up to 4 sections, which can be quartered or shown in a very useful "filmstrip" format. For example, this set up can show half of the display dedicated to the radar and the other half split into 3 sections such as the plotter, sounder and selectable CCTV/thermal cameras for example. Reformatting this is just a matter of drag and drop on the touch screen SSIR controller.

On IMO vessels, the VEI 32" display can be used at the command bridge or at the engineering station. A touch screen option makes this an even more versatile product in these scenarios.

Finally with the 1200 nit Sunlight model has enough brightness to be used outside as a TV on the aft deck or even upstairs on an open deck.

The display comes standard with 9 inputs. With the SSIR control system VEI's new monitors can manage as many inputs as the vessel requires. Following the same principals as all the other VEI monitors on the market today, VEI use a hardened, etched glass which is not coated. This enables the monitor to be well ventilated and it therefore runs cooler that other monitors, as there is an airway, or plenum between the glass and the display itself. The glass can be cleaned with normal chemical cleaners and is completely scratch resistant. When installed the displays are waterproof from the front.

VEI has been delighted with the response from the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. Michael Bader, VEI's Chief Operating Officer commented after FLIBS that "Never before has VEI experienced such commitment to a new product during a boat show". He added, "It's a credit to the VEI team who have listened to what the market was looking for and have designed and produced a complete solution."

VEI is a privately held company with corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale Florida. This year VEI celebrate's their 20th anniversary. They continue to follow the creed established by the founder and President Kelly Hulse "invent it, design it, build it by hand, oversee production, install it properly and the rest will follow."
