A free feature-rich update is on the horizon for SailCruiser, NavSim's PC Marine Navigation Software Solution for Sailors!

After five months on the market, NavSim's SailCruiser^TM has made its way onto sailor's computers all over the globe; and in true NavSim style there is already another free update scheduled for early June!

Continually seeking ways to improve its product line, NavSim has taken user feedback and suggestions to develop the latest additions to the SailCruiser program. Some added features include improved tacking information on waypoints and marks, the option to switch routes between motoring and sailing, and the option to adjust anemometer data filtering.

Sailors can now click on a mark/waypoint and obtain both optimal and actual data for the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Time to Get (TTG) and Distance. Secondly, having the option of switching routes between motoring and sailing will allow sailors to either calculate TTG to their destination or waypoint and the ETA based on tacking and wind conditions; or using by using the straight line calculation. Lastly, anemometer data filtering will reduce jumping of wind data creating a more stable interface environment.

Sailors will still enjoy the original features that have made SailCruiser so popular, such as automatic calculation of optimal route and tacking angles and various polar plots functions.

SailCruiser is built from the platform of NavSim's flagship product, BoatCruiser^TM 2.0. The highly intuitive and customizable programs, SailCruiser and Boat Cruiser 2.0 have support for GPS, AIS, depth Sounder and Autopilot. The programs also support a wide range of charts including C-Map MAX and NT+, Maptech ®, CHS digital charts, NDI Digital Ocean, NOAA ENC S-57, QV, SoftChart, E-topo and NavSim MapServer Individual Charts.
