NavSim Technology Inc.'s Professional PC-based Navigation Package to be used by St. Lawrence Central and Lower Pilot Groups
At the Mariners Workshop, which took place on February 6th and 7th in Montreal, the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) announced that NavSim's NavCruiser PROTM was the navigation program preferred by both the Central and Lower St. Lawrence pilot groups during recent trials.
An operational committee comprised of select pilots and CCG technology advisors was assembled to head the "St. Lawrence Electronic Navigation Project". The operational committee conducted extensive testing of several professional electronic navigation systems, evaluating them based on several key components. With the overall goal to improve vessel navigation and traffic management through the St. Lawrence river waterways, NavCruiser PRO came out on top as the premium software package selected by the two St. Lawrence river pilots corporation (comprised of 180 pilots).
Since the release of NavCruiser PRO in the fall of 2006, NavSim has been working closely with professional mariners and seaway pilots from the Upper St. Lawrence and the Great Lakes regions.
NavCruiser PRO supports multiple marine instruments including GPS, AIS, Autopilot, ARPA/MARPA and Depth Sounder. Mariners can also expect compatibility with a wide variety of chart types including C-Map MAX, NT+, S-57, ETopo, GeoTIFF, and the soon to be released C-Map MAX PRO.
