Power Up Anywhere with Eight New Inverters from Cobra Electronics

Versatile and Convenient Power Inverter Line Solves Every Power Need

LAS VEGAS (January 4, 2008) - Chicago-based Cobra Electronics (NASDAQ: COBR) today launched a new line of high performance power inverters, offering consumers versatility and features at competitive price points. This is Cobra's first complete line of power inverters to offer a USB output in all its models.

The highest powered inverters in the new line range from the CPI 2575 with 2,500 watts of continuous power-enough to power multiple appliances such as a mini refrigerator and a microwave oven-to the CPI 475 with 400 watts of continuous power-enough to power a large color television and a kitchen appliance such as a blender.

Cobra is also offering three inverter models small enough to transport in a briefcase, backpack or purse. The CPI 200 CH is designed to fit in a car cup holder and offers 200 watts of continuous power and 400 watts surge, enough to power a 19" television. The CPI 150 BK includes a carrying case, a cigarette lighter plug for use in the car, and an airline connector power cable for use on planes. The unit offers 150 watts of continuous power and 300 watts peak, which is ideal for charging a laptop and a cellular phone. Finally, the CPI 130 has a compact design allowing it to fit directly in a cigarette lighter and supplies USB output, 130 watts of continuous power and 260 watts peak for charging a music player or a camcorder battery.

"Our 2008 power inverter line breaks new ground in the category with its unsurpassed combination of power, reliability and value-added features," said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president, sales and marketing for Cobra Electronics. "From our cup-holder-friendly CPI 200 CH for personal electronic devices, to our CPI 2575 for powering large appliances, this line offers consumers the most versatile power and transport options available today."

The new inverters will be sold at major retailers in January 2008. Price points will vary from $39.95 to $299.95.

In addition to the new line of power inverters, Cobra's 2008 mobile navigation, radar detection, two-way radio, citizens band and marine products will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 7-10 in the Central Hall, booth # 9841, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
