Visteon automotive Headrest Entertainment Systems ready to turn backseat into movie, music and video game multiplex
Innovative new systems feature two independent media players available with integrated Game Boy® Advance platform
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2008 - Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) is building on the popularity of its
Dockable Entertainment portable in-car video and video game systems with a family of innovative new original equipment-quality headrest media players available with integrated Game Boy Advance
capability.
The new Visteon Headrest Entertainment Systems, unveiled during the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show, enable rear-seat passengers to simultaneously enjoy different forms of
entertainment - from DVD-based movies and music CDs to any of the more than 900 Game Boy
Advance video game titles. Compatible with a broad range of late-model vehicles equipped with
removable headrests, the new systems will be available this spring through auto dealership
accessories departments and leading mobile electronics retailers. Each system is covered by a
premium three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
"Visteon Headrest Entertainment Systems are manufactured using strict OE-focused quality standards, and deliver seamless integration, independent operation, and premium video game capabilities," said Mark Boyle, director of sales and marketing, Visteon Aftermarket. "Now backseat passengers can be watching separate movies, playing different Game Boy Advance games, or enjoying a combination of both."
The new systems are delivered complete with two replacement headrests matched to the vehicle
model and trim package. Each headrest is equipped with an OE-quality integrated Visteon media
player featuring premium 7-inch TFT-LCD color screen and designed for independent operation.
Visteon also offers premium headrest units featuring integrated game cartridge slots that accept any Game Boy Advance video game. Each Visteon media player includes input/output jacks for use with other audio/video components.
Visteon Headrest Entertainment Systems also feature two sets of twin-channel wireless headphones, DVD player remote controls, wireless game controllers (for units with Game Boy Advance capability), and all required wiring and installation hardware. All handsets feature backlit controls for ease of use at nighttime and in other low-light conditions.
"The wireless headphones and controllers enable front-seat passengers to enjoy the ride without
unwanted movie or game sounds or the need to help operate the units," Boyle said. "It's a truly
personalized entertainment solution that can help make any trip more comfortable for everyone in the car."
Visteon Headrest Entertainment Systems can be seen in the company's 2008 International CES
