BEIJING, China, April 17, 2008 - Visteon Corporation and 3M, working together to bring unique and innovative technologies to the automotive industry, will continue its technology showcase world tour in China this year. 

Visteon and 3M will bring a jointly developed demonstration vehicle to China, featuring innovative technologies designed to enhance the driving experience. This demonstration vehicle was unveiled at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January. The vehicle is currently on a world tour, having visited Japan in March, and is due to visit China, North America, Europe and South America in 2008.

Visteon and 3M announced a global advanced technology collaboration in January 2008 that paves the way for the two companies to develop consumer-focused original equipment and aftermarket automotive products that capitalize on the expertise of each company.

"Initially, our discussions were intended to learn about one another's innovative processes but it soon developed into a strategic collaboration based on mutual understanding, and a shared goal of bringing new solutions to the automotive marketplace that respond to consumers' needs," said Steve Meszaros, vice president Visteon electronics.

"Through our discussions we discovered that both companies offered complementary strengths," said Barry Liao, Industrial & Transportation Business group manager, 3M China. "Visteon's automotive intellect combined with 3M's innovative leadership allows us to innovate intelligently because of our in-depth understanding of both vehicle manufacturers and the end consumers who ultimately purchase vehicles."

In addition to the joint demonstration vehicle, customers will see 3M's technologies featured on a concept car developed by Yanfeng Visteon, a joint venture between Visteon Corporation and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC). 

Yanfeng Visteon will unveil a sports concept car, the Phoenix, at the 2008 Beijing International Auto show. The concept car demonstrates Yanfeng Visteon's full-range design and styling capabilities - from concept to manufacturing - and will also feature 3M technologies which provide more possibility and flexibility for design. The vehicle will be on display at SAIC's booth in exhibition hall W7 from April 20 -25.
