Stay Connected At Sea With Inmarsat's Fleetbroadband From Global Satellite USA

YACHT SHOW AT NATIONAL HARBOR, DC

BOOTH #B11

Fort Lauderdale, FL: June 5th, 2008: While setting sail on your super yacht might be considered ‘getting away from it all', you still want to know that you have the very best connectivity solution at your fingertips.  Ensuring that your business runs smoothly is just as important while you're at sea as when you're on shore. The ability to be in touch 24/7 - if you need to be - is essential.  For your global satellite maritime internet solution, there is only one name to remember.... Fleetbroadband.

This revolutionary global satellite Internet system delivers the highest broadband speeds in a compact domed antenna. Fleetbroadband is the first maritime communications platform that makes Internet usage at sea nearly identical to land based networks. Simply plug this into your onboard LAN and all systems can connect to the Internet. Regardless of type or size of vessel, Fleet- Broadband offers a compact solution no matter your position or conditions at sea.

With compact and easy to install equipment, your vessel is effectively transformed in to a broadband floating office, with simultaneous access to voice and high speed data, along with fax and SMS capabilities. So while you're accessing your company network over a secure, high-speed connection, your Captain can download real-time data for vessel operations. At the same time, your guests and crew can have discrete access to email, the internet and affordable phone calls through a variety of prepay and post-pay packages. There is a range of flexible tariffs, so you're not tied into impractical long-term agreements - you only pay for being online when you're on board.

Other applications that Fleetbroadband support include: remote company intranet and internet access, large file transfer, crew communications, vessel/engine telemetry, SMS and instant messaging, videoconferencing, real-time electronic chart and weather updates and finally store and forward video.

There are two terminals from Thrane & Thrane available designed specifically for the marine environment that supports high-speed data, voice, fax, ISDN and SMS services.  They are Fleetbroadband 250 and Fleetbroadband 500.  Both use stabilized, directional antennas, but the difference is performance capabilities, data speed and capacity.  With FB250, standard IP speed is 284 kbps, whereas FB500 is 432kbps.  With regards to streaming IP, the FB250 maximum speed is 128kbps and the FB500 maximum speed is 256kbps.

Fleetbroadband can be rapidly deployed across your entire fleet as a standard IP service, seamlessly integrated with head office networks.  The user interface is standard across all manufacturers' products. If you decide to move equipment from one vessel to another, there is no additional paperwork outside the purchasing of this system. The FB250 is small enough to be placed in a suitcase and used while on land.

All Fleetbroadband purchases made at the show or until the end of June will receive an additional 5% discount.  Check out Global Satellite USA at the show and see for yourself why so many boat owners are choosing Fleetbroadband to stay in touch.
