As Discover Boating's official "Boating Guy," Keith Ammons is charged with helping introduce non-boaters to the boating lifestyle and current boaters improve their on-the-water experience.  Growing up aboard his father's shrimp boat in the Southeastern United States, Ammons was destined to one day have the title "The Boating Guy." 

With 25 years of boating experience including sportfishing, kayaking, powerboating and sailing, Keith helps boaters within every budget and lifestyle bracket increase their enjoyment on the water. He has been first mate aboard a sportfishing boat on the Gulf Coast and is a recipient of the U.S. Coast Guard's Gold Safety Coin. Keith travels the country speaking at Boat Shows and outdoor events, and communicates with boating-interested consumers virtually at DiscoverBoating.com.

In his tenure with Discover Boating, he has been interviewed by more than 50 local television affiliates and is a weekly contributor for Sirius' World of Boating program. In his free time, Ammons takes to the water in one of his several kayaks, powerboat or sailboat, including bare boat sail trips to the Caribbean with his wife. He also enjoys sport fishing and has participated in more than 25 professional tournaments.
