BROADVIEW, IL (6/24/08) -- Blaupunkt Professional Systems, the commercial mobile electronics division of Robert Bosch Corp., has announced its sponsorship of the Chrome Shop Mafia's custom 2007 Peterbilt Legacy, The Godfather. The Godfather was extensively customized by the installation team at 4 State Trucks of Joplin, Missouri, home of the Chrome Shop Mafia.
"The Godfather toured last year with the exterior customization," comments Bryan Martin, 'Bossman' of 4 State Trucks," and was such a hit we decided to do a full interior upgrade and bring it back for 2008. The cab and sleeper on this truck are completely over the top, and it's got a full Blaupunkt a/v entertainment system to match. This is the epitome of Interstate high style - a mighty Peterbilt 379 pedigree with a level of refinement and class in true Mafioso style!"
The Godfather is a 2007 Peterbilt 379 Legacy edition, #27 of 1000, powered by a 550 Caterpillar engine with 18 speed transmission and 3.55 rear-end gearing. The installation team was inspired by a classic 1930's 'gangster' look, with clean lines, full-length fenders, and a black and cream paint job that includes a fullsize mural on the rear of the sleeper. It made its debut with new interior customization at the Mid America Truck show in Louisville in May. For the remainder of the year, this truck will be exhibited at various events in North America (refer to link below).
The Godfather's Blaupunkt entertainment system includes a Long Beach DVD35 DVD receiver with both component and coaxial Velocity speaker systems, dual 10" Velocity subwoofers, and high power Velocity VA2100 and VA4100 power amplifiers. For video, a pair of 6-1/2" TFT LCD monitors reside above the sun visors, and there are 15" monitors in both the sleeping compartment and one of the exterior compartment doors.
The Godfather continue to tour the US for the rest of the summer, and will be offered for sale later in the year. For a complete schedule of events and appearances please visit http://chromeshopmafia.com
