Peripheral Electronics Automotive Media Gateway Now Compatable With Honda, Acura & Volkswagen

7/15/2008

Revolutionary technology integrates iPodTM, HD RadioTM and other media devices directly into most Honda, Acura and VW car and SUVs

Clearwater, FL (July 15, 2008) - Peripheral Electronics® - the award-winning OEM Integration products division of AAMP of AmericaTM - is pleased to announce the compatibility of its innovative Automotive Media Gateway for most late-model Honda, Acura and Volkswagen vehicles.

The recipient of a 2008 CES Innovations Award, the Media Gateway is an extraordinary OEM interface that integrates the iPodTM, HD RadioTM and several other portable media products directly into a vehicle's factory system via an easy-to-use plug-and-play interface. This eliminates the need to replace the factory radio and allows drivers to keep the look, feel and functionality of their original system - even with a factory-installed satellite radio, GPS or steering wheel stereo controls. Additionally, the PXAMG can also bring the power of HD Radio broadcasting to almost any factory system with the help of the Peripheral Electronics HD Radio Tuner (HDRT). Available separately, the HDRT gives users more channels and more content in exciting new formats with no subscription fees.

According to Ron Freeman, CEO of AAMP of America, "We are incredibly proud that the PXAMG is now compatible with three of the best-selling import brands on the market; Honda, Acura and Volkswagen. Right now, manufacturers are putting some incredibly advanced, high quality OEM systems in vehicles directly from the factory, and these three are no exception."

"Because of this, more and more people are looking to expand their original system to incorporate today's portable music players, navigation systems and media devices. The Peripheral Media Gateway gives them this opportunity at a value price point. That's why we are 100% committed to making this technology available to as many dealers and end users as possible by expanding the number of makes and models the Media Gateway operates with."

The Media Gateway itself comes pre-loaded with the programming required to work on most makes and models of vehicle. However, for proper compatibility a special harness is required depending on the type and year of automobile in which it is being installed. While most 2004-2008 Honda and Acura models can be installed using the PGHHD1 harness, Volkswagen installers will need to use the PGHVW1, PGHVW2 or PGHVW3 harness depending on the vehicle. Details and specific information regarding the PXAMG, interface harnesses, accessories and compatibility with particular makes and models is available via an easy-to-use online database located on the Peripheral Electronics website, http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/.
