HOLLY HILL, FL, JUNE 6, 2008: Now you can retain steering wheel functions for pairing phones, dialing, selecting audio sources, controlling volume and many other tasks while retaining voice recognition and all the features of the SYNC® system when you install the Axxess Ford SYNC® Interface (AFSI-01).
Designed to allow the installation of an aftermarket radio into a Ford CAN vehicle equipped with the New Ford SYNC system, the AFSI-01 drives front speakers for voice prompts and phone operation, connects to aftermarket radios AUX input for all audio sources, provides line in for USB Bluetooth audio, and provides outputs for navigation radios such as the VSS wire, radio turn on, illumination and park.
In addition, the AFSI-01 includes an LCD display to show the SYNC® system status and text information that is normally displayed on the factory radio. Things such as text information for song, title, artist, and phone calls will be displayed on the included LCD display's readout.
"Axxess has always been a leader in digital interface technology, and we are pleased to market this innovative product," said Bill Lauer, Metra Electronics' Vice President of Mass Merchandising and New Product Development.
The AFSI-02 is available minus the LCD display, and this interface will not work in vehicles equipped with factory Navigation units.
