Plant expansion, localization and customer awards demonstrate success of one of Visteon's joint ventures in China

SHANGHAI, September 26, 2008 - Dongfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems (Dongfeng Visteon) a joint venture between leading auto parts supplier Visteon, Yanfeng Visteon and Dongfeng Group, is celebrating its fifth anniversary today. Dongfeng Visteon specializes in manufacturing high-quality interior and exterior components for cars and trucks.
Since opening its first plant in Wuhan in 2003, Dongfeng Visteon has grown into a company with over 550 employees across four manufacturing and assembly facilities in China. The joint venture has seen rapid growth, with the following key milestones:

• 2003: Establishment of Dongfeng Visteon and opening of Dongfeng Visteon Wuhan plant
• 2004: Opening of Xiangfan assembly facility
• 2005: Establishment of Dongfeng Visteon Shiyan, a manufacturing subsidiary  in partnership with Dongfeng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (DETC)
• 2007: Opening of Nanjing cockpit assembly facility
• 2008: Wuhan plant expansion by an additional 4,100 square meters

One key factor driving Dongfeng Visteon's success is its capability for localization. With strong local program management, experience in managing international projects and servicing global customers, as well as its developed local supplier base, Dongfeng Visteon has been able to support the increasing needs of its customers.

In 2006 and 2007, Dongfeng Visteon received DPCA's "Excellent Localization Award", Dongfeng Nissan's "Excellent Supplier Award" and the China Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises' "National Foreign Investment Enterprise Double Excellence Award".

In recognition of its environmental efforts, the Dongfeng Visteon Wuhan plant has obtained ISO14001 certification, the international environmental management standard that provides a framework for integrating environmental responsibility into everyday business. It also obtained OHSAS18001 certification, the automotive industry's professional health and safety management system standard; and the automotive industry specific ISO/TS16949 certification, for its quality management system providing for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
