HOLLY HILL, FL, SEPT. 16, 2008: Metra Electronics introduces Ballistic Sound Dampening Material, a brand new noise insulation product that helps deliver the serious kind of clarity that stereo sound enthusiasts demand.

Ballistic Sound Dampening Material increases bass and enhances speaker sound quality, while eliminating speaker distortion, road noise, and rattle.

Consumers can use Ballistic throughout their vehicles - in doors, interior panels, floorboards, trunks, and more.

The Ballistic Sound Dampening Material SSDK door kit contains four one-by-three foot pieces (12 square feet); the SSSK speaker kit is two 10-by-10 inch pieces (1.38 square feet); the SSTKT trunk kit includes five 18-by-32 inch pieces (20 square feet); the SSBK bulb kit contains nine 18-by-32 inch pieces (36 square feet); and the SSLICB license plate kit includes one four-by-ten inch piece, one license plate frame piece, a license plate frame, and four foam gasket pieces.

Balllistic is a butyl rubber composite with an aluminum constraining layer for vibration dampening. Ballistic is designed and engineered to be extremely efficient at the conversion of vibration into thermal energy, as well as conforming and fusing easily to sheet metal and other hard substrates. All kits involve an easy three-step installation.
