Award-winning car displayed in the OPTIMA® Batteries booth at Goodguys Great Lakes Nationals

October 7, 2008 (MILWAUKEE) - OPTIMA Batteries®, manufacturer of high-performance automotive and marine batteries, is proud to announce its participation in Project American Heroes (PAH), a not-for-profit organization that rebuilds classic American muscle cars for auction. All net proceeds from the auction benefit the Armed Forces Foundation, a group that offers direct financial assistance and support to our men and women in uniform.

Last year, PAH rebuilt a 1957 Chevrolet convertible that was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach Florida, netting a $130,000 donation to the Armed Forces Foundation. This year, the PAH team-an expert group of volunteer craftsmen-rebuilt a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS
powered by a high-performance RedTop® battery.

"We're very excited to be part of Project American Heroes 2008," said Cam Douglass, director of pricing and product development for OPTIMA Batteries. "Our participation allows us to contribute to the rebuilding of a classic American car for the benefit of our fighting men and women."

OPTIMA showcased the Camaro at the Goodguys Great Lakes Nationals event. The car proved
to be a popular attraction when the crowd on hand applauded both the results of the rebuild and
the cause it represented. To make a good thing even better, the Camaro won the Goodguys "Best
Car on Intros Wheel" award.
