ACR Introduces ARX-50 Crew Overboard Alert Monitor
Categories: Industry News
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- August 13, 2008 -- ACR Electronics, the global leader in safety and survival technologies, has introduced the ARX-50, a simple-to-use crew overboard alert monitoring system.
Designed to monitor 121.5 MHz homing signals transmitted by all crew overboard beacons, such as the ACR MiniBTM300 ILS and MiniBTM300 ILS H2ON, the ARX-50 is suggested equipment for commercial fishermen and workboats, barges and oilrigs, crewed sailboats, fishing charters and dive boats.
When detecting the signal from a 121.5 MHz transmitting beacon, the ARX-50 alerts the captain and fellow crewmembers of a crew-overboard situation through a loud audible tone. The ARX-50 monitors the 121.5MHz frequency static free.
In addition to a LED scale, easy-to-read signal and user-friendly touch pad controls, the ARX-50 also employs a sensitive -120 dBm receiver that translates into a heightened ability to detect weak signals at a maximum range, a characteristic that will enable searchers to locate a distressed individual faster. The unit, which features a mono-pole antenna design for quick and easy installation, is weather resistant and offers a Channel 2 frequency for training and testing.
MSRP for the ARX-50 is $1,150.
