December 16, 2008 - LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN), the premier worldwide provider of tracking and recovery systems, today announced it has reached a new milestone, having recovered 250,000 stolen assets worldwide valued at more than $5 billion USD.
As part of this year-end milestone, LoJack is highlighting "best of" stolen vehicle and commercial recovery stories for 2008 from its Global Licensee Network - which includes organizations in more than 30 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. This year's stories reflect the important role the LoJack Network's recovery systems play in fighting the growing global problem of vehicle theft and assisting police in the apprehension of professional thieves behind this and other more serious crimes.

Highlights of the Top 2008 Global Recoveries:
South Africa: Police Recover Stolen Vehicle Parked Inside a House! Police tracked a stolen vehicle to the back of a suburban house and were startled to find a second stolen vehicle parked inside a "faux" living room with a huge hinged wall designed to swing open enabling vehicles to drive right inside. The vehicle found inside the house was linked to a recent hijacking.
France/Italy: Popular French Soccer Player's Car Stolen in France and Recovered in Milan
While away at a game, a popular French soccer player's BMW 635 was stolen in France and recovered in good condition - and in only eight hours - on the streets of Milan, 183 miles away, thanks to the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System and the strength of LoJack's European Recovery Network and close collaboration with law enforcement.
United Kingdom: Excavator Recovered 100 Miles Away in a Matter of Hours
A Caterpillar mini-excavator was recovered 100 miles from where it had been stolen only hours after the theft was reported. The strength of the tracking signal enabled police to find the mini-excavator even though it was hidden in heavy undergrowth and bushes, which speaks to the unmatched capabilities of the System's Radio Frequency technology.
United States: Two Arrested in $1.5 Million Chop Shop Bust
A construction manager came to work and realized that his business had been burglarized, with two welders and several pieces of construction equipment stolen. Shortly after he reported the theft, police picked up a LoJack signal and followed it to an equipment sales and repair business. There, detectives found the stolen welders and recovered 212 pieces of additional stolen construction machinery and equipment, valued at $1.5 million. After completing an investigation, officers made two arrests.
Argentina: LoJack Recovers Vehicle and Semi-trailer in Less than One Hour LoJack recovered a Volkswagen vehicle and tractor-trailer in just 39 minutes. Armed thieves had stolen the vehicle, assaulted the owner and were on the run with the stolen vehicle and trailer, which was loaded with goods. Soon after, police found the vehicle and trailer with its contents perfectly intact. The operation led to the arrest of sixsuspects.
Kenya: LoJack Helps Police Recover Hijacked Diesel Tanker
A Mitsubishi diesel tanker was hijacked by armed thugs outside of Nairobi. The driver was briefly taken hostage and then dropped off a short distance away. Tracking teams later found the tanker and recovered several drums full of diesel, which had been siphoned by thieves from the tanker.
Canada: Boomerang Recovers $410,000 USD Essex RV
Boomerang Tracking recently recovered a 2006 Essex 4510 RV - valued at more than $410,000 - equipped with a multi-unit Espion tracking device. A tracking team was quickly dispatched, located the stolen vehicle and returned it to the owner - who originally thought it would be secure in a storage facility - with no damage.
