Full-featured navigation for the GPS-enabled Nokia N95 Smartphone has maps and software stored on the phone, providing dependable navigation and avoiding the risk of potentially costly map downloads.

24th April 2007, ALK Technologies today announced that their award-winning CoPilot Live mobile phone navigation system is now available for the Nokia N95 Smartphone. Unlike the standard navigation system optionally available with the phone CoPilot Live's maps are supplied on a preloaded storage card, avoiding the risk of potentially costly map downloads over the Mobile Internet.

CoPilot Live takes full advantage of the N95's in-built GPS receiver and clear colour screen to provide powerful, accurate and reliable directions whether in-car or on foot. Turn by turn directions are provided on-screen and spoken, with clear colourful maps displaying the way ahead.

CoPilot Live is designed with driver safety in mind, so by default a map is only automatically displayed close to a turn or when stopped, with a simple graphical instruction shown at other times. Drivers can choose from alternative views, including 3D, 2D or itinerary as required.

In addition to driving mode, CoPilot Live's walking mode is helpful to find the way on foot, while pre-trip planning enables fast and accurate calculation of start to finish trips before setting off. A preloaded database of safety cameras is provided as standard with on-screen and audible alerts. Further camera location updates can be downloaded for free from the internet.

Detailed maps of the UK and Ireland from NAVTEQ are preloaded on a storage card for easy installation. The maps include full 7 digit UK postcodes and are accurate down to house number. Also included are thousands of points of interest such as petrol stations, car parks, hotels and stations make finding common types of destination easy.

As with all CoPilot Live products, location tracking is included as standard. Taking advantage of the N95's mobile Internet connection, this feature enables others to view your location on the Internet, send you messages or even new destinations - all in real-time for no additional cost*.

A multi vehicle version of this service - CoPilot FleetCenter^TM - is optionally available for £15 per vehicle per month, enabling business of all sizes to manage their mobile teams simply and affordably from a single web site.
