| Companies Co-Developing Data Communications Solution for Siemens Automotive and M2M Customers Worldwide |
| Seattle, WA (USA) - March 31, 2008 - Airbiquity Inc., a leading provider of wireless data communications software solutions, today announced a global licensing agreement to provide Siemens AG with Airbiquity's aqLink software technology. As a result of the agreement, Siemens, the industry leader in wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, and Airbiquity will be able to offer an additional end-to-end data communication solution that radically improves speed to market for their customers. The companies will demonstrate their joint technology at CTIA Wireless 2008 from April 1 - 3 in Las Vegas in Siemens booth #5327. The co-developed solution integrates Airbiquity's aqLink in-band modem software directly into Siemens' AC75 wireless module platform. The AC75 already provides advanced automotive features and high speed packet data capabilities. Combining Airbiquity's data-over-voice technology with the new AC75 platform expands worldwide deployment opportunities by enabling two-way data transmission anywhere a cellular voice call can be made. The jointly-developed module will be commercially available in the second half of 2008. Together, Siemens and Airbiquity have already attracted major automotive OEM customers and their Tier 1 suppliers for integration into model year 2010 vehicles. "Our customers were demanding a powerful, high quality and easy to integrate wireless GSM module," said David Jumpa, senior vice president, global business development for Airbiquity. "We partnered with Siemens in order to meet that need, and look forward to jointly providing our OEM customers with even more solutions that speed their overall time to market." By combining Airbiquity's expertise in developing software that enables real-time data transmissions via wireless voice channels with Siemens' long-term experience in the automotive sector, both companies have broadened their offerings to reach new customers in a variety of markets across the globe. Customers using a Siemens AC75 wireless module platform integrated with Airbiquity's VIAaq managed data service will have immediate, robust access to end-to-end telematics and other applications using the voice channel for audio and advanced data communication. "Our partnership enhances the Siemens platform and will unlock new opportunities for Siemens in the automotive and other industry verticals," said Marian Baran, vice president of wireless modules for Siemens. "This co-developed platform is another step in Siemens' ongoing effort to continue offering its customers market-driven technologies that keep pace with the rapidly evolving mobile industry."
