| How does AT&T CruiseCast work? |
AT&T CruiseCast is made consumer-friendly by the unique scaling down of satellite technology into the small pod-like antenna that affixes to the roof of vehicles. The antenna is secured to a roof-rack on sedans, SUVs and mini-vans and via a magnetic mount on all other vehicles. It is paired with a receiver that is mounted in the vehicle and provides all video and audio connections to the appropriate vehicle systems, such as Rear Seat Entertainment, Vehicle Audio System etc.
AT&T CruiseCast is the first service that uses video-buffering technology to minimize loss of programming when a vehicle loses line of sight with the satellite while driving alongside a tall building or under a tunnel.
|
| Where can someone purchase AT&T CruiseCast and what is the price? |
AT&T CruiseCast Service will be sold through auto dealerships and other automotive product vendors where buyers can have the compact antennas and receivers installed to link into rear-seat entertainment systems.
AT&T CruiseCast is still working to finalize its initial channel line-up and the monthly cost will be announced at that time. It is anticipated that the monthly subscription fee will be $28.00. The price of the equipment for the vehicle (antenna and receiver) may vary by dealer but the MSRP is $1,299.

| Why is AT&T CruiseCast Unique? |
To date, some mobile TV products have had capacity for only three channels. Others also have problems maintaining the continuity of the signal, losing the programming whenever they are out of sight of the satellite. Lastly, current in-motion antennas working on a regular satellite TV service are huge, weigh up to 50 pounds and are unsightly.
AT&T CruiseCast solves all of those problems. The service has unlimited channel capacity and will launch with 22 TV channels, and 20 satellite radio channels. It has addressed the signal loss problem with its breakthrough buffering technology that maintains the connection while going through tunnels, under bridges and around tall buildings. Lastly, highly advanced technology usually found in larger satellite dishes has been scaled down to a very compact low-profile antenna that is easy to install and not particularly noticeable. The dimensions are 11.3 L X 10.3 W X 4.3 H and the antenna weighs three pounds.
