KVH Industries Brings Satellite TV to Chart Plotters, Fish Finders, and Nav Screens

Satellite TV is gaining popularity on smaller boats. Fish finders, chart plotters, and multi-function navigation screens from leaders like Furuno, Standard Horizon, and Interphase make it even easier to enjoy TV programming on the water thanks to an ultra-compact, in-motion TracVision® M1 or M3 satellite TV antenna from KVH Industries.

What:
Want to enjoy the big game, catch breaking news, or enjoy a blockbuster movie when the fish aren't biting? Just add the video feed from an award-winning KVH TracVision antenna to the navigation screens and chart plotters already on the boat and enjoy crystal-clear TV while on the water without adding another TV screen.

KVH's ultra-compact TracVision M1, the world's smallest and lightest marine satellite TV system, and the award-winning 14.5-inch TracVision M3ST and M3DX are increasingly popular on boats as small at 25 feet. To make the most of the space on these smaller boats, existing video screens from manufacturers like Furuno, Standard Horizon, and Interphase Technologies can serve as outstanding TV monitors, even in bright daylight.

This week, at the 2009 Miami International Boat Show, KVH is joining forces with these three manufacturers to demonstrate the quality and versatility of their multi-function screens and the TracVision family of satellite TV systems, live in their booths.

Middletown, RI-based KVH Industries, Inc., is the leading provider of in-motion satellite TV and communications systems, having designed, manufactured, and sold more than 150,000 mobile satellite antennas for applications on vessels, vehicles, and aircraft. KVH's mission is to connect mobile customers around the globe with the same digital television entertainment, communications, and Internet services that they enjoy in their homes and offices.

Consumer Implications:
Boaters with smaller craft, including center console fishing and recreational boats, no longer need to worry about finding space or paying the expense for additional screens to enjoy TV. Instead, they can add a TracVision system and leverage their existing multi-function screens to enjoy live satellite TV entertainment at the dock, at anchor, or underway.
