International CTIA WIRELESS 2009 Announces Educational Sessions and Speakers

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)-- Feb 05, 2009 International CTIA WIRELESS 2009® today announced its educational program and speaker lineup that includes executives from wireless carriers, mobile device and infrastructure manufacturers, content developers, media companies, financial institutions and technology enablers. This year's program offers four tracks that will explore a broad array of issues focusing on the future innovations in technology, business roadmaps, emerging opportunities for new and established wireless companies, and public policy priorities. The International CTIA WIRELESS show takes place April 1 -3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Developing Businesses on Mobile - will explore emerging wireless applications poised to penetrate unconventional customer bases and expose new market opportunities for wireless business expansion that include the sale of wireless goods and services. Sessions include: Carrier Perspective on Emerging Opportunities which will discuss the growth expectations and future product introductions in the U.S. and abroad; and Content Provider Perspectives on Emerging Opportunities focusing on what is meant by success in the shifting ‘open' environment.

Participating in this track are executives from: AT&T, Fujitsu, T-Mobile USA, Motorola, MTV Networks, Sprint Nextel and YouTube.

The Blueprint of Convergence - will address developing technology implementation plans that will affect the wireless landscape over the next five years. These sessions will discuss strategies for technology integration between existing and new wireless and wireline operations. Sessions include: Application Platform Development - Opening the Door to the Future will address the processes and value chain interdependence that support application development and delivery from the network to the consumer; Femtocells - Relatively New Vocabulary That is Changing Mobile Coverage will feature providers and implementers of Femto who will address CAPX, benefits garnered from implementations and future roll out expectations.

Participating in this track are executives from: 724 Solutions, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco Systems, Ericsson, Google, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Qualcomm, Syniverse Technologies, and Texas Instruments.

Partnerships Growing Mobile - will focus on the business side of the ever-changing wireless partnership paradigms and address mobile marketing, social networking, mobile banking, 21st century mobile content, Common Short Codes, mobile business models, music and search. Sessions include: Mobile Marketing: The State of the Art will look at critical issues that impact a company's ability to leverage mobile marketing; Social Networking - Developments in Peer to Peer will examine how lucrative partnerships will take mobile social networking to the next level; Mobile Money - Transacting Money via Mobile Banking will examine when and how money will be mobile and offer an overview of the inhibitors and impediments to be overcome before full scale adoption.

Participating in this track are executives from: Fidelity Investments, Handmark, NBC Universal Digital Distribution, Nokia, Twitter and Yahoo! Inc.

State and Federal Public Policy - will feature discussions with top state and federal policy makers that address the issues that the wireless industry faces on the state and federal levels. Sessions include: Wireless and the New Politick will look at how wireless technologies utilize social networking, open-government and location based applications to change lives and influence current and future political discourse; Wireless Public Safety will address the importance of wireless services to existing and emerging emergency services, such as Next Generation 9-1-1, mobile alert systems, and first responders.
