Comverse Brings Visual Voicemail to Latest BlackBerry Smartphones
Enhanced Visual Voicemail Pushes Message Information to Smartphone's Inbox for ‘Click-and-Listen' Ease
CTIA Wireless 2009WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comverse's latest visual voicemail offering for wireless carriers works on BlackBerry® smartphones -- including the most recent models -- from Research In Motion's (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM).
The Comverse Visual Voicemail solution delivers all messages to a BlackBerry's inbox, complete with each voicemail's date, time and length, as well as each caller's phone number and identity if available. Listening to messages and returning phone calls are as simple as clicking on the message.
"While the user can take pleasure in a true visual voicemail experience to save money and time, service providers can benefit from a boost in customer satisfaction, as well as enjoy increases in voicemail usage and penetration in key consumer and business segments," said John Bunyan, Chief Marketing Officer of Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added voice, messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.
"Comverse is already meeting the fast-paced needs of today's users with more than half of the world's visual voicemail deployments to date," Bunyan said, "and is well positioned to extend its leadership position in the visual voicemail arena."
Visual Voicemail is part of the Comverse Voice HUB, which is a single platform for multiple voice-related services, such as next-generation voicemail, ringback tones, and Call Completion. Operators can reap cost savings from the Voice HUB's unified platform because it reuses major components and takes advantage of centralized operation, maintenance and provisioning.
Comverse will be demonstrating its Visual Voicemail offering on BlackBerry smartphones at CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas from April 1 to 3. Comverse will be located at Hall C5, booth MR#101.
