Reality Mobile Appoints Patrick McVeigh Chairman
CEO Rensin Will Become Vice Chairman and Chief Scientist Amid Growth and Management Team Promotions at the Mobile Video and Data Sharing Technology Company
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Reality Mobile LLC today announced the appointment of Patrick McVeigh as chairman. McVeigh joins the company at a time of strong growth for the mobile video and data sharing technology company. The company's flagship product, RealityVision®, has changed the way mobile phone technology is used for situational awareness. RealityVision, which will have a major version update announcement on April 20, 2009, was deployed at this years' Presidential Inauguration, State of the Union Address and Academy Awards.
The company also announced today that CEO Dave Rensin will assume the role of vice chairman and chief scientist. David Kramer has been promoted from COO to president and CEO, Kevin Winters has been promoted from vice president of engineering to CTO and Philippe Kuperman has been promoted from vice president of sales to senior vice president, sales and marketing. Brian Geoghegan continues in his role as chief product officer.

McVeigh has more than 30 years of experience in the high technology and consumer electronics industry. He was most recently Chief Executive Officer of SoonR, Inc. Before that, Mr. McVeigh had been the President and CEO of Palmsource, the developer of the Palm OS. While at Palmsource, he transformed the company from a developer of proprietary handset OS's to a leader in the development of Linux based open source mobile operating systems. He led the successful sale of Palmsource to Access Systems of Japan. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Aliph Corp., the developer of the "Jawbone" headset for mobile phones. Prior to Aliph, Mr. McVeigh served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Omnisky Corp. until selling the business to Earthlink. While with Omnisky, Mr. McVeigh developed and executed the launch of the first nationwide wireless ISP in partnership with AT&T and Verizon, becoming the leader in the delivery rich content and services to end users.
