TELE2 Russia Selects Comverse Solutions to Optimize Messaging and Browsing Experience for Mobile Users
WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comverse today announced that TELE2 Russia has selected Comverse Multimedia Messaging Center (MMSC) and Mobile Internet Gateway (MIG) to optimize the messaging and browsing experience for its more than 10 million subscribers.
Comverse MMSC enriches such services as messaging, system alerts and mobile advertising with multimedia content, regardless of the user's handset and network. Comverse MIG delivers a superior mobile Internet experience that makes browsing fast and attractive on every handset and provides the operator with value beyond connectivity with capabilities that generate new revenues.
TELE2 Russia selected Comverse MMSC and MIG to help keep pace with the evolving needs and preferences of their subscribers, with special focus on such rapidly developing areas as user-generated content, social networks, mobile Internet browsing and mobile advertising. The advantages of the Comverse solutions are familiar to the Russian operator because its pan-European parent company TELE2 (OMX: TEL2 B) selected the same services last year in 10 other European countries.
"Our success in helping to create new revenue opportunities and generate sustainable growth for our customers is the reason we forge strong relationships with operators, who often return to us for additional solutions," said Urban Gillstrom, Group President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.
"Providing advanced multimedia messaging and industry-best browsing solutions for a large multi-national operator like TELE2 underscores the effectiveness of our solutions in helping operators thrive by meeting evolving market challenges," Gillstrom added.
A pioneer and leader in multimedia messaging, Comverse has deployed MMSC solutions in more than 70 networks around the globe. Comverse MIG manages and enhances the mobile browsing experience for more than 60 operators worldwide. As the core element in a "smart-pipe" strategy, MIG enables operators to strengthen their position as data service providers, enhancing the browsing experience, boosting usage, and creating new revenue streams.
Both MMSC and MIG are part of the Comverse HUB of value-added services that spans voice, messaging, mobile Internet and mobile advertising. Comverse HUB is a synergistic framework that enables service providers to maximize their business performance and augment their position in the market.
