The BlackBerry Application is the First Native Handset Application Built Using the Brightkite Open API and Complements the Existing iPhone and Android Apps

BURLINGAME, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brightkite, the Social Discovery Network, today announced the public availability of its first BlackBerry application, myKite, in the BlackBerry App World. The BlackBerry application is the company's first third-party developed handset application. With more than a dozen applications built on the Brightkite open API, the BlackBerry app joins an active developer community that has seen diverse uses including Google Latitude, Socialgreat, Friendfeed, Oscar Mayer and BFGoodrich Tires.

BlackBerry devices are among the most frequently used on the Brightkite mobile website, so a native application will give Brightkite's two million active monthly users a richer BlackBerry experience.
