CarMD Now Offers Automotive Diagnostic Benefits Compatible With Windows 7
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - (Dec. 15, 2009) - CarMD.com Corporation is pleased to announce its CarMD® Handheld Tester & Software Kit is now compatible with Windows 7. This award-winning consumer automotive empowerment product has earned the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, and is now included on Microsoft Corp.'s official list of Windows 7 compatible software.
"CarMD is committed to offering drivers the latest in vehicle and computer coverage, which is why our software engineers and programmers made it a priority to perform stringent tests for compatibility as soon as Windows 7 was available," said Richard Amador, director of marketing for CarMD.com Corp. "We are committed to offering continuous improvements to our hardware, software, website and vehicle diagnostic database, to help ensure our customers have the very latest information to keep their vehicles healthy. By working with Microsoft, we are confident CarMD will provide users with enhanced functionality and value."
Every CarMD® 2100 Handheld Device & Software Kit sold after October 17, 2009, features Version 3.0.3 or newer and is compatible with Windows 7. It has been stringently tested to confirm compatibility and reliability with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 editions. Because of CarMD's compliance to run on these systems, CarMD can use the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo on all packaging and promotional materials. CarMD will also continue to run on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista Systems (including 64-bit systems), as well as with most Apple® Mac OSX systems. All previous CarMD users are encouraged to update to the latest CarMD software by visiting http://www.carmd.com/33.4/Article/SystemRequirements to download and install the latest software and firmware updates.
The CarMD® handheld device and software kit works on all 1996 and newer OBD2 cars, light trucks, SUVs and minivans manufactured for use in the U.S. - foreign and domestic. The easy-to-use tester can be used to quick check an unlimited number of vehicles. Within seconds, its Vehicle Health MonitorTM LEDs (green, yellow, red) tell the driver if the vehicle's systems are running normally, which is beneficial when to catch hidden problems before they become expensive repairs, inspect used cars and trucks, and determine if your vehicle will pass its emissions test. When a problem is found, CarMD customers gain access to an unprecedented diagnostic database using the included software, their computer and own Internet connection, to generate a report with probable cause, estimated repair costs, vehicle recalls and more.
