Uniden America Corporation Converts from Plastic Clamshells to MWV's Natralock Sustainable Security Packaging Solution
Categories: Industry News
FORT WORTH, January 8, 2010 -- Uniden America Corporation announced today it is converting its GMRS/FRS Two-Way Radio Products, currently in plastic clamshells to MWV's (NYSE: MWV) Natralock® security packaging solution. Natralock is a paperboard-based, tear-resistant secure package that provides customers with a more consumer- and environment-friendly alternative to traditional clamshells. The GMRS/FRS two-way radios will be available in Natralock packaging throughout retail and sporting goods stores nationwide starting January 2010.
Dunwiddie Custom Packaging, Inc. partnered with MWV to seamlessly create and procure the designs and materials for supply and production for Uniden's conversion from clamshells.
| Natralock, made from sustainably sourced paperboard with a clear plastic APET or RPET bubble, seals up to 60 percent faster on average than clamshells. |
Uniden will be showcasing the Natralock packaging solution during the International CES 2010.
