Innovations Driving the Mobile Decade on Display at International CTIA WIRELESS 2010

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At this year's International CTIA WIRELESS 2010® tradeshow and conference, attendees from around the world will view products and services from more than 1,000 exhibitors that are driving the mobile decade. This year's event will showcase the fastest-growing areas of the wireless ecosystem - including apps, retail, mobile health and smart energy - on the show floor, in conference sessions and in specialized industry and country pavilions. International CTIA WIRELESS will take place March 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Partner events will begin Monday, March 22.

Exhibit Highlights

This year, CTIA will turn the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center into "Innovation Hall," highlighting the hottest new developments influencing mobile life. Apps World, a new addition to the show floor, will host companies demonstrating the newest mobile content and platforms, social networking and application delivery solutions, along with learning centers that will foster education within the developer community. Several exhibitors-including Samsung, BlackBerry, GetJar, Infosys, Lucid Communications, Mobile Monday, Motorola, NAVTEQ, Open Mobile Solutions, Opera, Oracle Embedded, Palm and Wireless Industry Partnership-have expanded their presence beyond traditional booths into Apps World, where they will offer customized experiences for developers. With more than 20 percent of the show's attendees coming from the retail space, the Retail Zone, located in the North Hall, will feature a full range of products and services geared toward making the retail ecosystem more profitable and efficient-including mobile CE, POS solutions, product display innovations, refurbishers and re-sellers. The Emerging Technology Zone will give attendees a glimpse into the future of mobility spanning vertical markets and includes the Wireless Health and Smarter Planet pavilions. This area will also feature Launch Pad-a pavilion dedicated to giving start-up companies an opportunity to demonstrate their ideas-and the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards showcase, highlighting the mobile products and services entered to win honors in the areas of consumer electronics, mobile applications, luxury mobile, enterprise and vertical markets, green solutions and network infrastructure. Keynotes

The keynote stage will provide a platform for global carriers and thought leaders who will provide attendees with new perspectives on the future of the wireless industry. On Tuesday, March 23, the keynote stage will feature 2010 CTIA Chairman Ralph de la Vega, president and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets; Randall Stephenson, chairman, CEO and president of AT&T Inc; Iñaki Urdangarín, chairman of Telefónica Internacional, USA Inc.; and J.K. Shin, president, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

On Wednesday, March 24, CTIA president and CEO Steve Largent will host two fireside chats with industry leaders Dan Hesse, CEO of Sprint Nextel and Bill Morrow, CEO of Clearwire. In addition, John Stanton, chairman of Trilogy International Partners; René Obermann, CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG; and Padmasree Warrior, CTO of Cisco, will discuss the evolution of the mobile market and the innovations that will drive new growth.

On Thursday, March 25, CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera will moderate a keynote roundtable featuring Academy Award-Winning Director James Cameron, U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra and Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone. The panel will discuss the transformative power of wireless and its continued impact on business, media and the economy.
