Friday, January 07, 2011 -- Clarion Corp. introduces five new CD source units with more HD Radio compatibility and more connectivity options. The flagship CZ model, the CZ501, offers built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming, USB and AUX connections and is HD Radio Ready. This unit also features a two-line display, also found on the CZ401 and CZ301.

The CZ401 audio source unit has built-in HD Radio, a dedicated “Tag” button for iTunes tagging and sports differentiated cosmetics, similar to the CZ501, and the glossy black front panel finish like the other models in the line.

Clarion’s CZ301, like the CZ401 and 501 models, is Sirius Direct Connect Ready, features high-pass filtering, sub phase control and 4-channel 2-volt RCA outputs. The CZ301 also offers HD Radio capability via the optional THD301.

The CZ201, like the higher end CZ models, offers USB iPod/ iPhone control with the company’s new HMI and front-panel USB with a cover that rotates out-of-sight while not in use. The CZ101 has the same family look of cosmetics as the up-level models, a single-line display and is Bluetooth ready.

All CZ models have front auxiliary inputs, detachable control panels, and are OEM steering wheel remote ready. All but the CZ101 include front-panel USB with a rotating cover to expose the USB port when needed and enhanced iPod/ iPhone interface with simple mode enabling control via the iPod itself or directly on the source unit. “Clarion products offer multiple connectivity features to enhance the mobile environment,” said Nate Nishida, Senior Director of Product Planning. “Clarion’s source units enable consumers to pick their digital music from their favorite source, whether it is HD Radio, iPod / iPhone, Sirius or other digital sources.”

Clarion’s new CZ line-up will be widely available in the first quarter of 2011 with affordable price points from $99.99 to $229.99 M.S.R.P.
