I still had my mini disks head unit in my car and it was great having one despite the fact that mini disks are rare (until now...) and as much as i want to retain my mini disk head unit i need to replace it with mp3 head unit for it's more portable and useful than the mini disc units...
i considered my mini disk head unit as a part of chevy tahoe parts...been missing the unit ever since! :P
Some of you are laughing, and some of you are scratching your head, wondering what a MiniDisc even is.
I have many fond memories of driving around in one of my first cars, young, wild, and free (wait a minute.. I'm still young, wild, and free... right?) with the company of my Sony MiniDisc head unit. I still have it, and I bet it still works.
MiniDiscs were great before the advent of cheap MP3 players - they allowed you to create your own custom "mixes," and they were housed in durable plastic cases. That means I could toss it into the backseat without worrying it would get ruined. And, it sounded great :)
Anyone still have one of these, or even still using one? Share your memories of this forgotten format!
