Something I'll never forget - taking road trips with my family. Fortunately, we weren't stuck in the family van - we were able to borrow a really nice conversion van from a family friend.
This thing had it all, was super comfortable, and a real treat for us as kids.
One of the things I loved about this van was the "captain's chair," or "chairs" I should say; the driver and passenger seats were a swivel bucket style seat, and the front console was huge.
The crown of all of this was a custom radar detector mount. It was actually installed into the top portion of the console, and at a (hidden) button, the detector would reveal itself, using an electric motor. The bottom of the housing was even carpeted like the interior. At the press of the cleverly hidden button, the radar detector would "disappear." Awesome.
Tell me about the coolest radar detector setup you've seen...
