I don't know about you, but I see alot of cars that have DVD players in them. You can pretty much see everything they are showing, at night, when you are behind them at a stop light.

I have never seen this, but, if someone is watching a porn video you would (and your kids) could easily see every thing happening on their screen.

In my state there has been discussion about how to handle this legally. Has anyone heard of any definitive rulings or laws regarding this?

Interesting question. I think this is related to watching DVDs on airplanes or coffee houses. Are there any rules there (besides common decency)?

If the screen is visible through the car window, I can only guess it would be in the same boat with any law prohibiting adults from showing pornography to minors since it's technically a public showing. In the case where windows are tinted and not visible from the outside, then I'd say there's nothing wrong with it. Think about it; you can get busy in a limo, but not with the windows down.

All I could find on this is this article from 2004:

It certainly SHOULD BE illegal

The courts will decide, but I am still going with Matt's opinion.

If you worried about the offending the public or being pulled over by your friendly neighborhood police officer might I suggest you install a Delphi Dual-View screen.  That way if you stay in the slow lane anyone who passes you by will not know that the others in the vehicle are enjoying their daily dose of Porn.

I wonder how many folks realize Delphi is really GM? But a Dual-View would really be cool. To bad I can't afford right now. Undecided
