http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-supply.htm tells you the computer power supply will indeed work.
http://pinouts.ru/Power/atxpower_pinout.shtml says that Black on the radio goes to Black (pins 3, 5, 7, 13, 15, and 17), any one will work. And radio Red attaches to computer power supply pin 10 yellow.
Now the radio's clock should come on. DO NOT TURN THE RADIO ON WITHOUT ATTACHING AT LEAST TWO SPEAKERS. Some radios will burn out if they are turned on without speakers attached.
Now, which speakers? Use car radio speakers. Not some leftovers from a boom box. Some inexpensive speakers are almost as bad as no speakers.
Go to a junk yard or car radio store and get a car antenna or at least a plug for the back of the radio. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/electronics/msg0521100331318.html here is more information than you wanted to know about the length of wire for AM and FM radio antennas.
Have fun!

i want to power a head unit indoors and after much internet searching have decided to use a pc power supply because it seems to be the most cost efficient way of doin it. But i am now struggling to figure out exactly how to wire it to my head unit..... have tried many youtube videos but they arent made clearly enough to tell exactly which wires they are using. i was wondering if anyone could help me out or lead me into the right direction i would b very grateful
thanks
I use a 450W PC power supply for a stereo system that I use in my house, and there are several tricks on how to use it. The yellow cables have 12 V, red-5V and orange-3.3V. I removed the audio system from the car I bought from used car dealerships Utah and made a very good indoor audio system. The power supply can be started if you connect the black cable with the green one. If it has no switch for turning off/on then you have to manually disconnect those cables in order to switch it off.
