When a Nav-Tracker 2.0 transmitter is mounted discreetly on a boat, a wireless ‘fence' with a 500-meter range is created. If a boat is moved outside of this fence, Nav-Tracker 2.0 uses Inmarsat based GPS satellite technology to monitor a boat's location and notify up to four people by email and/or text message every 15 minutes with the latitude/longitude, speed, heading and distance to the closest city. As many as 27,000 boats are stolen annually and the odds of recovery are only about 1 in 10, according to the International Association of Marine Investigators. "Alarms and other deterrents are not enough. However, with a Nav-Tracker on board, if your boat is stolen, you'll have a much better chance of getting it back," said Jay Keenan, Paradox Marine Vice President of Marketing. The message transmitted from Nav-Tracker 2.0 on board the Contender when it...

PHOENIX, July 10, 2008 - Maretron, a leading developer and manufacturer of marine networked electronics, today announced a low cost version of its comprehensive vessel monitoring software. Previously, Maretron only offered a high end, PC based solution of its vessel monitoring software called N2KView® Platinum with an MSRP of $2995.

YACHT SHOW AT NATIONAL HARBOR, DC BOOTH #B11 Fort Lauderdale, FL: June 5 th , 2008 : Global Satellite USA, one of the leading providers of satellite communications for the yachting industry, will unveil at National Harbor, the SAT 201 D+ terminal that provides global satellite tracking to safeguard personnel, fleets, cargo, fixed or mobile assets using Satamatics technology. This second generation satellite terminal integrates the modem and antenna into a small, single piece computer unit making installation and integration a simple procedure. Commenting on this new device, Global Satellite USA CEO Martin Fierstone says, "The SAT 201 is the perfect little device that provides navigation, messaging and Internet based tracking for sailboats and yacht racing. Onboard sensors that detect theft and unauthorized entry can be reported using the SAT 201. A report can be sent to your cell phone immediately if there is a change in status. With the IMO and national governments imposing rules and regulations on commercial maritime operators in international and national waters, the SAT 201 can also be used to integrate Ship Security Alert Systems (SSAS) and Vessel Monitoring Systems (VMS). The SAT 201 provides the answer to reliable and cost effective monitoring and reporting...

She was shocked to find her Sea Ray had somehow shoved off without her. She scratched her head and said in bewilderment, "Where could it be?" If Amy had the proven Marine Magellan Wireless Security & Monitoring System from Paradox Marine with the NAV TRACKER GPS Tracking System, she would already have an answer to that question, and she would have been alerted the moment her boat left port without her. Formerly this type of GPS tracking was only available for commercial use. Not any more! Sea Ray owners can monitor their boats with the NAV TRACKER, a system that can be wirelessly added to any Marine Magellan System onboard or used as a stand-alone device. When armed, the NAV TRACKER sets a 500m safety zone "Geo-Fence" radius around the boat. If the fence is breached, the boat owner will receive an e-mail or text message, to 4 recipients, every 15 minutes displaying its location and other detailed information. Amy remembered that her brother had borrowed the boat to take his family to Bimini. To prevent...
