New York: County Admits Cameras Are For Revenue

Strapped for cash, Suffolk County, New York admits it wants to install red light cameras to generate revenue. In a four-hundred-page review of the county's financial situation released earlier this month, officials mentioned only one purpose for the automated traffic enforcement devices. "At this point the County needs to make hard decisions," the 2009 county budget review states. "Do we raise property taxes? Do we seek state approval to raise the overall sales tax rate? ... Do we raise revenue from traffic tickets by instituting red light cameras? ... These are some of the choices, none of which are attractive. Nevertheless, we must face reality and begin serious discussions on what direction to take." The county cannot install red light cameras without first obtaining permission from the state legislature. Since 2001, it has been consistently frustrated in its attempts to convince lawmakers in Albany to grant this authority. Photo enforcement supporters believe that support from Governor David Patterson (D) will finally deliver the changes in state law needed to begin operations. The county has even begun taking steps to establish a parking violations bureau...

Hiding your gear in your vehicle.

I have wanted to buy a Satellite Radio for my car. I first looked at buying a unit that would directly sync up with my factory built headunit. Unfortunately this would not allow me to see all the titles and songs since I have an older headunit. I am sure I am not the first to deal with this problem. So I decided that I was going to have to go with devices that would be out in the open. Of course that is just one more thing left out for everyone to know what you might have available in your car to steal. I have been able to integrate my radar detector so that it stays hidden and my phone sits in a charger when I am in the car. My GPS goes up and down off the dash so many times its crazy. So how can we keep protecting all of our gear from everyone else that might want us to part with it. I bought the Pioneer XMP3 player which plays both XM and Sirius radio now that they have merged. I sought the advice of five installers to see how I could install this little wonder...

Azentek is helping to lead this era in the state of Michigan, where the automotive industry was first started. There are several exciting things currently happening at Azentek, however one new product gaining headway for in-car technology is the SmartMirror.
Sound-proofing the office.

Does anyone know how to sound-proof an office space? I would think that it is like sound-proof a room for a home theatre system. If there is such sound-proofing out there, I am wondering if it is a do-it-yourself or does it require professional installation? Someone told me that it can be done for $1K. Is this right?

(PINKSHEETS: DPHIQ). The system is the first to provide continuous across-centre control and is 60 percent lighter and around 65 percent more compact than the previous generation system, making it the world's most advanced roll control technology. Delphi was first to market with an Active Stabiliser Bar System in 1999 and has subsequently developed both linear and rotary systems for a range of applications. In 2005, Delphi's second generation system was launched on the Range Rover Sport, contributing to its world-class combination of handling, comfort and off-road ability. The unique ball screw rotary actuator technology provides the highest angular articulation of any system currently in production and is also the most efficient, converting around 95 percent of pump energy into hydraulic pressure compared with around 65-85 percent for competitor systems. "The new system keeps Delphi comfortably ahead of the competition," comments development manager Olivier Raynauld. "Generation 3 ASBS provides best-in-class...
