Surround Sound in Your Car?

Who's had great luck with surround sound in their car? The idea of being able to watch a movie in true surround sound while on a road trip is pretty exciting. Tell me about your true surround sound system in your car. What's the experience like? Your favorite equipment?

In-Dash DVD Players - External Monitor?

I'm seeing a lot of in-dash DVD players. The most common design seems to be the type where a 7" screen (or therabouts) slides out of the player. Have you had good luck with this type of design? It seems like a lot of things to "break" to me. Is a setup with an external monitor a better way to go?

Favorite Satellite Radio Player?

If you were going to buy a new satellite radio, which one would it be? In the case that you already have one, or have experience with them, which is yuor favorite? If I was going to pick an XM radio, it's have to be this one, the XpressRC . On Sirius, I'd pick the Sportster 5 . I like that it's portable and dockable, so I can either have it in a static place on my car, or take it with me. Which is your favorite, and why?

Your Favorite "In-Vehicle" MP3 Player

I currently use my 5G iPod in my car, and have found that the interface is relatively easy to use, the display is clear is easy to read, and overall has been enjoyable to use in the car. I also had great luck with my Rio Karma player, but unfortunately the HDD on that unit went kerplunk! Who has used other MP3 players in their car and really liked the experience? Why?

FM Transmitter Experiences

I've tried to use an FM transmitter in my vehicle for my iPod, but I've always had bad luck. The sound quality has always been pretty poor. Maybe it was because I hadn't chosen the right unit, or because I didn't have it in the right place in my car. Any recommendations for which FM transmitters are best, or how to best use them in my car?

iPod Integration - Best Head Unit?

I am currently using a Sony head unit in my Hyundai Tiburon, the CDX-GT420IP, which is a somewhat basic head unit that offers iPod integration. What was nice is that it integrated right with my factory system! My 5G iPod plugs right into the cable from the back of the unit, and powers the iPod. The head unit's control then takes over, and I am forced to use the head unit to control the iPod. I find that this interface is quite slow and it's really difficult to quickly navigate to what I want. Which head units feature better iPod integration? What has your experience been with iPod integration in the car?
