Garmin gps maps

Hi all; I am an happy owner of Oregon 550t and I would like to know which method or guide to follow to visualize on the gps more independent tracks pieces simultaneously and together with the preloaded map. The problem is that if I load these tracks pieces as a single track (since in this gps is not possible to view more tracks at the same time), all the final parts of the pieces are connected with the beginning of the following piece making the vision very difficult. For this reason I would like to to convert the track to a map and then import it in the gps and put on top of the preloaded map. As an alternative i could first download the preloaded map from the gps to the pc, insert the track and import everything again. Note that is not important that the gps follow this track, It could only show it for example like a river; I don't need any navigation function but only see the track with no connecting lines between the pieces. Does someone of you know the procedure to do this as simple as possible? All what I have now are hundreds...

GPS Tracking Mileage Tool Quino solutions

Mileage Tool wouldn’t it be nice… I am a sales guy. I drive, keep track of my mileage and report to our admin department. Ideally at the end of every month I receive a check compensating me for the amount of “professionally motivated” miles/km driven. To be perfectly honest I do not know whether or not my calculations and reconstructions of routes using google maps are always accurate. I usually use outlook for my appointments and sit down every months end figuring out distances between different destinations. This is a rather time consuming way of keeping track of my travels… A mileage tool can greatly improve efficiency and accuracy. A small device with a GPS Transponder can keep track of every movement of your car during a user-defined time period. You will never forget any route you have taken, rerouting and times you got lost and had to go the extra mile will also be taken into account automatically. The only thing you have to do is put the device into your car (the integrated magnet can mount onto any metallic surface) and take it out once a month to download the data, print out a report and add your...

Navigation device is the tech portal for the car

One of the biggest take aways from my recent CES trip was just how important the GPS device will be to car tech going forward. I like what Microsoft and Ford are doing with Sync but, for now, that's cell phone and iPod integration which is not that exciting. What IS exciting is seeing how quickly the GPS vendors like Dash, Garmin, TomTom and others are racing to bring Internet connectivity to the car through their units. Looks like over the next few years at least, it will be in after market, standalone units but not hard to see that this becomes standard on built-in units down the road (no pun intended). It has already started with real-time traffic conditions and will quickly expand to include local search (e.g. gas stations, restaurants, movie listings, etc.) but the availability of virtually all Internet data and services in the car is inevitable. I'm excited about having the Internet in the car if its fast, convenient to use, and relatively cheap. There are probably other devices that will attempt to provide connectivity from scaled down PCs to beefed up PDAs and smartphones but from where I'm sitting, it will be the GPS that...
