Disc Changer... Or MP3 Player?

I'm very curious - who loves their disc changer? Personally, I always wanted a disc changer before MP3 players became mainstream. I find now that I have so much music, an MP3 player is the best solution for my car audio. However, we all know that CD's provide "uncompromised" audio quality, compared to compressed MP3's. Who's still using their disc changer? Which one do you think is the best? Do you feel the sound from CD's is significantly better in your car audio system?

No homemade CD's?

My 1997 Ford Explorer has a built-in 5-disc CD changer, which I love. However, it does not read homemade CD's, burnt from iTunes or equiv. Is there anything I can do to make them work, or am I just stuck?
